Stephen Hardy

Steve has been a deacon and the Church Secretary of CEBC for over 30 years. He is married to Joy and has three sons and six grandchildren.

His outside interests include History and Archaeology, a foundation Governor of a C of E primary school and a Leicester Tigers supporter.

Chris dee

Chris is a church deacon and is proud to call himself a resident of St Matthews. Chris found himself at Carley as a university student and never left!

If you can't find him at the church, you will find him at his bike shop - Northside Bikes.

Mohan Shah

Mohan has been a deacon for 20 years. He was born in Kenya, but his background is Indian and was brought up in Jainism. He became a follower of Jesus 40 years ago and is married to Annette.

He has worked for the shoe industry, the police and social services. He loves walking, meeting people from other countries and Leicester Tigers.

Joel Spaxman

Joel is the newest of the deacons to move to Leicester. He came with his family from the Horn of Africa, where he was the director of an English school. He is also the Saint Matthews Matters Community Worker.

Joel loves talking about history, sport and practicing his broken Somali.
